After that, the Spanish get a decision based on their decision, where they allow the Communists to gain more power or not, and the USSR's help will be predicated on them accepting the Communist Party's rise to power. Immediately after the decision, France and the UK get a decision regarding their stance in the war (embargo, special lend-lease or something like this). When the war begins, the player either chooses the Republic(SPR) or the Nationalists (SPA). The Spanish Civil War was one of the key moments in the pre-WW2 years, and as such, should be addressed with a more intricate sequence of events and decisions, for exemple: (there was also a threat from some French officers of revolt if France aided the Spanish Republic, but was not substantial) France was willing to support the Republic, but was unwilling to do it without the UK's acceptance, and as such, Leon Blum caved and forbade significant military aid from France. Historically speaking, the Republic only embraced the USSR's support because both France and the UK agreed to the Non-Intervention Commitee. A few thoughts on the Spanish Civil War, as i feel the game oversimplifies a far too complex confilct.
